Face Recognition System
Development of a facial recognition system for identifying people at metro stations
Industry and use case:
Video systems and video analysis
Data:
10'000 frames from a video stream and 500'000 detections
Project duration:
14 days
Challenge:
Our partners have developed a cutting-edge product that utilizes facial recognition technology to identify individuals in a stream of people at subway stations. The product has enormous potential to enhance security in public places and streamline the identification process in high-traffic areas.
To train their machine learning model, our partners required a vast dataset of people’s faces captured in real-life subway environments. This dataset is essential for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the technology
The Problem:
The initial data, consisting of videos from surveillance cameras, had poor quality and a large number of detected objects (up to 1000 boxes per frame)
The Solution:
To complete the project, we formed two teams that worked in stages:
The first team consisted of 20 people and was responsible for breaking down the video into frames.
The second team consisted of 60 assessors and 10 validators who processed the frames and labeling
The second team consisted of 60 assessors and 10 validators who processed the frames and labeling
The Results:
After forming a team of 90 people, our partner successfully launched a facial recognition technology with an impressive accuracy of 95.7%. The successful launch of this facial recognition technology not only represented a significant accomplishment for our partner but also served as an important contribution to the world of technology, particularly in enhancing security measures in public places
My ML team worked closely with Vlad, the project manager. Thanks to the data-centric approach, we were able to quickly edit the instructions and obtain a high-quality dataset on time
